Surrey Local Immigration Partnership is hosting an event on October 11, 2024 at the Museum of Surrey, aimed at fostering connections between Indigenous and newcomer communities. This gathering is not just an event; it is an opportunity for us to deepen our understanding of local First Nations through the transformative power of storytelling.
Michael Kelly-Gabriel from the Kwantlen First Nation will be present. His contributions will provide invaluable insights as they share stories from their land and discuss important cultural protocols.
To honor the spirit of community, we invite everyone to join in a communal dinner featuring traditional Indigenous fare of Bannock and soup as we break bread together and continue our conversations. This will be a heartfelt welcome and sharing of stories.
